Fire2D is freeware game framework inspired by fantasy consoles like pico8 and framworks like love2d, right now its in early stage but we hope we will be able to create a solid game framework at the end to impress and help our community build amazing games

FAQ

why did you made this?

i made this because i wanted something as easy as pico8 but for more complex games that i can publish on steam and other stores, i also wanted something that could be used with external assets which pico8 didnt had that feature

is it free?

yes, at least for now, you can create and sell your creations without any problems or limitation, how ever in the feature we might add payment options to access certain features or assets if the project becomes more mature

does this framework has any editing tools?

at its current state, no, but we planning to create a editor for editing and creating maps and API functions to load them

will this library become open source?

probably not, we used to create and work on open source projects before but we faced a common problem that most open source projects will face, and that is to make enough money to be able to afford development cost, so in order to continue our support and development for project we will not open source it, thanks for understanding
